Weekly Image Of Life: Blessing Of Hope

Life is a constant cycle of ups and downs. There will always be good days and bad ones. It is never perfect but it’s these imperfections that spice things up. It’s these very flaws that motivates us to pursue with hope and determination. In the end, they help shape our character, teaches us humility and help us appreciate even the smallest of blessings.

Hope gives us the wings to fly and run like the wind. We may not soar high enough to reach the clouds but it’s high enough to surpass the things that pulled us down.

It felt good to just run without worries in the world. Though fleeting, it still felt great to feel free and just surrender to the joys of the moment.

Hope gives us the strength to overcome obstacles, trials and problems. It gives us comfort that things will be better. That there’s a bright sun hiding behind the dark clouds. That everything will be alright.

Last Saturday we were at the beach trying to fly a kite. The wind wasn’t strong enough but after a few tries, the kite finally flew. It felt good seeing it flying on air. Even more beautiful was seeing my son and wife looking so happy.

Hope gives us reasons to hang on. To dream and wish for happiness. Happiness that always seem to balance the sad, lonely and depressing times.

Normally my wife is not into running but that day she did. In fact, she ran first. I was really glad when she said, “That was a lot of fun.”

Hope motivates us to let go and just move forward with courage. It inspires us to just jump and take that huge leap of faith.

The cold water did not stop my son from swimming. Looking all excited, he grabbed my hand and said, “Dad, come with me.” Man, the water was icy cold! Other than the cold temperature, it was actually fun and liberating.

Hope gives us a reason to trust that love is more that enough to help us go through anything and everything.

Married life is no joke. After the romance and courtship comes the reality of what it means to live a life together in both the best of times and the worst. Hope gives us a sense of comfort that love will sustain us through every troubling storm and that down to the very end, we’ll still be walking hand and hand with the same person we made our promise to.
